Accommodation

Guests will be housed in traditional student dormitory residence halls (Wilson Hall, Wetmore Hall or 45 Willcocks Residence) in a combination of single or double rooms (with 2 single beds) and a limited number of Don Suites (a self-contained room with washroom (toilet and shower) for some leaders/chaperones).  Two to three communal washrooms (each with 4-5 sinks, 4-5 shower stalls, 4-5 toilet stalls) which are gender-specific are on each residence floor.  All washrooms have private and locking shower stalls and toilet stalls.  Laundry rooms and common rooms with kitchen facilities (stove, microwave, sink) and TV and lounge area are located on each floor. All residences are located on the University of Toronto downtown campus right beside each other and within walking distance to many tourist attractions, museums, theatres, art galleries and main shopping areas located in the city centre. They are only seconds from streetcar (right outside our door) and subway routes (walk to Spadina Station) that can take you to anywhere you wanted to go in the Toronto and surrounding area.

Safety and Security

The University of Toronto employs fully trained campus police officers who continually patrol the campus in patrol cars, bicycles and on foot. New College Residence also has permanent 24-hour staff in the residence to provide information and assistance to guests as needed. Our central Front Desk located in Wilson Hall at 40 Willcocks Street is open 23 hours a day (closed from 3 a.m.-4 a.m and emergencies).  For added security, the elevator and residence floor doors are locked which can only be accessed by Residents with fobs. There will also be a private security guard who will patrol the residence floors everyday throughout the night. If requested, we can arrange a security guard to station specifically with your group for an additional cost.
